Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Competencies: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities required at this level include knowledge of the theory, principles, and practices of medicine; physical, mental, and psychiatric symptoms and treatments; methods and procedures of laboratory, x-ray and other diagnosis techniques; pharmaceutical agents, their usage and counterindications; the languages used in pharmacy prescription writing; human anatomy, physiology, and chemistry; minor surgical procedures and techniques; safety and sanitation practices; and the uses of medicines of illness. Education and Experience: Education and Experience requirements at this level consist of certification as a physician assistant by the Oklahoma State Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision with delegated prescriptive authority for Schedules II, III, IV, and V drugs and registration with the federal Drug Enforcement Administration and the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs and national certification as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission for Certification of Physician Assistants.
