li>Assistance with coordinating and supervising procedures within scope of practice (bronchoscopy, thoracentesis, cardiopulmonary exercise testing, pulmonary function testing). The primary role will be to assist with inpatient pulmonary responsibilities including collaborative care of new and follow up patients with pulmonary and sleep disorders.
li>Obtain complete, detailed and accurate patient histories, review patient records, perform physical exams, and record all pertinent data to develop comprehensive medical status, diagnosis and clinical treatment plan for all assigned patients. Prescribe medication, write orders, perform procedures and respond to emergency and/or immediate condition changes of acute, critically ill patients.
li>Examines patients to determine presence of illness, utilizing physical findings, laboratory results, medical history, ascertains nature and extent of illness and prescribes treatments as indicated. The PA provides primary health care through assessment, diagnosis, clinical judgment and management to restore, maintain and improve the health status of patients.
