Coverage includes management and disposition of urgent outpatient issues that would otherwise be managed by the full-time Nephrology staff if present, to include telephone messages, provider and nurse inquiries and response to abnormal test results as well as Nephrologist consultative services Emergency Department and inpatient services. • Provision of nephrology consultative services for critical and acute care hospital inpatients and Emergency Department outpatients will include education/teaching to staff members of other disciplines/specialties, medical residents/students, and other personnel involved in patient care.
