Summary Statement The Scheduler/Planner(s) must have a broad knowledge of shop floor control and production planning and scheduling.  He/she must comply with all safety procedures and guidelines, and comply with all company issued policies, procedures, rules and regulations.  He/she must also have an excellent work ethic including excellent attendance, punctuality, and the desire to complete designated work in a timely fashion.Education/Experience<ul><li>Must have at least 1 years' experience in scheduling and shop floor control. Experience in a shipbuilding environment is a plus.</li><li>Prepares, maintains, and releases shop work orders based on approved budgets and production schedules.</li><li>Maintains planning/cost tracking system integrity. Updates data fields in the planning/cost tracking system to optimize validity and output and audits processes periodically.</li><li>Communicates work order status to supervisors and management. Tracks actual production against budget and reports budget overruns and close to overrun conditions. </li><li>Provides a measurement of efficiency, utilization and productivity of the work force, machines and project status weekly.  Issues other required reports within set time frames.</li><li>Must have strong computer skills, and be proficient in Microsoft Excel, MS Project, and other business software utilized by the company.</li><li>Must be a self-starter able to perform job duties with little or minimal supervision.</li><li>Must be an excellent communicator, both written and oral, and be able to identify and report any and all problems and discrepancies to their supervisor and request assistance if necessary.</li><li>Must be detail orientated and have excellent follow up skills.</li><li>Must have a willingness to learn new techniques.</li><li>Must be able to meet the work schedule.</li><li>Must be able to maintain a clean work environment.</li><li>Must wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by Senesco job hazard analysis.</li><li>Must be physically able to work in all areas of the shipyard.</li><li>Must be able to maintain a clean work environment.</li><li>Must wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by Senesco job hazard analysis.</li><li>Must be physically able to work in all areas of the shipyard.</li></ul>Physical Demands<ul><li>The employee must have correctable vision to 20/40, however contact lenses are not permitted in certain production area positions.</li><li>The employee must pass the Ishihara test for color blindness and have the ability to read and understand safety symbols and colors, (i.e. red, yellow, green, etc.).</li><li>The employee must be able to stand, sit, walk, squat, kneel, stoop, or climb stairs or a ladder.</li></ul>Work Demands<ul><li>The employee is required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to respirator, hardhat, face shield, safety goggles, safety shoes (steel toe), safety harness, gloves or other protective clothing as determined by a Senesco Marine Job Hazard Analysis.</li><li>The employee must report all accidents or injuries to their supervisor and the Environmental Safety and Health Department.</li><li>The employee must report to their supervisor any and all damage to equipment or broken and misused tools. </li><li>The employee may be working in several different areas and environments; this includes work inside and outside of buildings or structures.</li><li>The employee needs to work at a pace consistent with meeting company deadlines.</li></ul>Disclaimer This is not necessarily an all-inclusive list of job-related responsibilities, duties, skills, efforts, requirements or working conditions. Assist in the development and maintenance of the Integrated Master Schedules and Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) that identify the Design, Engineering and Life Cycle support products and activities scheduled to support program objectives. Gain an understanding of Engineering Planning's impact on other planning groups (Advance Planning, Detail Planning) and use that knowledge to ensure Design and Engineering deliverables are properly scheduled and delivered to support those groups.

Overview:
Engineering Planners are responsible for loading and maintaining the design & engineering schedules (Integrated Master Schedule) for the various programs at Electric Boat. Within the Integrated Master Schedule, an Engineering Planner is responsible for maintaining the pertinent activity level information to ensure the requirements of each submarine program are met. Engineering Planners play a crucial role in the development and maintenance of critical schedules supporting the various business requirements at Electric Boat.  Requirements of a successful Engineering Planner are as follows:<ul style="margin-top:0in"><li>Support various departments including, but not limited to Program Office, Finance, Design and Engineering across all Electric Boat programs.</li><li>Assist in the development and maintenance of the Integrated Master Schedules and Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) that identify the Design, Engineering and Life Cycle support products and activities scheduled to support program objectives.  </li><li>Communicate and act as a liaison between Design and Engineering, Program Management and Finance to ensure that the maintenance of critical schedules is supporting the various business requirements.</li><li>Gain an understanding of Engineering Planning's impact on other planning groups (Advance Planning, Detail Planning) and use that knowledge to ensure Design and Engineering deliverables are properly scheduled and delivered to support those groups.</li><li>Analyze data around manpower planning and Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) to support best practices and business needs.</li></ul>Electric Boat offers Flexible Work Arrangements that allows some work to be performed remotely and at home. This varies from position to position based on the amount of classified material the department interacts with, as well as a few other variables.  Onsite training will be required for approximately 6 months. Qualifications:
Required: <ul style="margin-top:0in"><li>High School Diploma or GED</li><li>3+ years of work experience in scheduling or planning</li><li>Strong Microsoft Office tools, including ability to analyze and manage large datasets and review metrics with all levels of management</li></ul>Preferred: <ul><li>Previous Electric Boat Planning and/or Design & Engineering experience</li><li>Business/Finance degree</li><li>Knowledge of Manpower scheduling</li><li>Working Knowledge of Earned Value Management principles</li><li>Experience with project management software, such as but not limited to Artemis, MS Project, Primavera, Fast track etc</li></ul>
