Required Qualifications:** + Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical, or biological science or medical technology from an accredited institution + Certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) by a nationally recognized agency (e.g., ASCP, AMT, AAB) + 3+ years of experience as a Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Scientist or other relevant experience + In-depth knowledge of laboratory operations, including laboratory techniques, procedures, and equipment + Solid understanding of CLIA regulations and knowledge of quality control and quality assurance principles and procedures, including proficiency testing and instrument maintenance + Familiarity with laboratory information systems (LIS) and proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications + Driver's License and access to a reliable transportation **Preferred Qualifications:** + Proven leadership and management skills, with the ability to supervise, train, and mentor laboratory staff + Proven solid problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot laboratory issues and recommend effective solutions + Proven excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with laboratory staff, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders + Proven solid attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to maintain a high level of quality control and quality assurance + Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced laboratory environment, handle multiple tasks and priorities, and meet deadlines + Proven ability to perform laboratory tests and procedures, including standing for extended periods of time and lifting up to 50 pounds + Proven ability to maintain focus and attention to detail for extended periods of time + Proven ability to handle stressful situations and manage competing priorities Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. Optum is a clinician-led care organization that is changing the way clinicians work and live.** **As a member of the Optum Care Delivery team, you'll be an integral part of our vision to make healthcare better for everyone.** At Optum, you'll have the clinical resources, data and support of a global organization behind you so you can help your patients live healthier lives.
