The Production Planner translates released sales orders into executable work orders, issues and maintains job travelers and related production documentation, confirms material and tooling readiness with Supply Chain, and maintains the production data in D365 that drives day-to-day manufacturing execution across BPP's facilities.</div><div><strong> </strong></div><div><strong>Core Responsibilities:</strong></div><div><strong> </strong></div><div><strong>Scheduling & Work Order Execution:</strong></div><ul><li>Translate released sales orders, demand forecasts, and project schedules into specific daily and weekly 	manufacturing work orders.</li><li>Issue and maintain job travelers, hold notices, stop notices, and change order notices to the production floor in accordance with established procedures.</li><li>Monitor production progress against schedule and adjust sequencing dynamically to respond to material shortages, machine downtime, engineering changes, or shifting project priorities.</li><li>Communicate schedules and schedule changes clearly to production leadership and work with them to resolve conflicts in real time.</li></ul><div><strong> </strong></div><div><strong>Material & Capacity Alignment:</strong></div><ul><li>Coordinate with Supply Chain and warehouse staff to verify raw material, hardware, and tooling availability before releasing jobs to the floor.</li><li>Work with Materials Management to ensure project kits are staged, complete, and available at each stage of the build process.</li><li>Identify near-term capacity, labor, and tooling constraints that may impact the schedule and escalate them to manufacturing leadership for direction.</li></ul><div><strong> </strong></div><div><strong>Data Integrity & ERP (D365):</strong></div><ul><li>Maintain accurate planning parameters and routings within Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365).</li><li>Partner with the Manufacturing Ops Coordinator and Project Managers to investigate and resolve BOM, traveler, or work order data discrepancies.</li></ul><div> </div><div><strong>Cross-Functional Coordination & Reporting:</strong></div><ul><li>Serve as a day-to-day point of contact between Engineering, Project Management, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing for production execution questions.</li><li>Notify Project Management promptly of any delays, schedule slips, or concerns affecting their projects.</li><li>Log production downtime and schedule deviations and work with production leadership to drive root-cause resolution.</li><li>Produce a weekly summary report of completed, delayed, missed, or rescheduled work orders, including reasons for deviations.</li><li>Report variations to plan to manufacturing leadership and maintain schedule adherence reports; is a long-term, full-time, onsite position located in Sacramento, CA<em>.</em></p><p><strong>Responsibilities </strong><em>may include, but not limited to, the following</em> </p><ul><li>Review and analyze owner/project manager and contractor prepared CPM schedules, baseline schedules, and monthly schedule updates to identify critical paths, near critical paths, milestone impacts, phasing shifts and potential trends.   </li><li>Collect field progress data, update status weekly or monthly, and produce look-aheads, variance reports, and earned-value forecasts.  </li><li>Run critical path and what-if analyses to test sequencing options, recovery plans, and alternative delivery scenarios.  </li><li>Perform schedule-risk assessments—identify drivers, quantify exposure with tools such as Monte Carlo simulations, recommend contingencies, and track mitigation actions.  </li><li>Analyze schedules for opportunities to reduce schedule risk, critical path duration, and recover delays by creating and analyzing what-if schedules.   </li><li>Perform schedule audits on project schedules to ensure data is "risk ready." </li><li>Support change orders and claims by preparing Time Impact Analyses that tie delays to cost and contractual entitlement.  </li><li>Analyze contractor delay claims including owner risk through the application of forensic scheduling principles.   </li><li>Continuous analysis of schedules and provision of alternatives and expected outcomes to avoid any schedule delays.    </li><li>Apply Earned Value Management techniques to schedules for purposes of reporting key performance indicators (KPIs).   </li><li>Identify key items which may not be included in structure schedules (such as utility relocations, environmental and or seasonal restrictions, or procurements).  </li><li>Perform review and analysis of schedules for reliability, risk identification, risk review, and risk assessments.  </li><li>Provide recommendations Qualifications</strong> </p><ul><li>Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or related field or equivalent combination of education/experience.   </li><li>15+ years' progressive experience in project scheduling or similar role for heavy civil rail and roadway transportation projects, including full CPM baseline development, resource or cost loading, and progress updating. </li><li>Experience scheduling for large programs (e.g., $500M+) utilizing quality and risk-based thinking.  </li><li>Experience with alternative delivery methods (e.g., DB, CM/GC, P3) to include an understanding of the implications of each for schedule governance and reporting. </li><li>Experience conducting critical path and variance analyses, preparing Time Impact Analyses, and quantifying schedule risk using Monte Carlo or similar methods.  </li><li>Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM), resource planning, and cashflow management. </li><li>Experience creating and presenting technical presentations in group settings and meetings.   </li><li>Forensic CPM scheduling skills regarding analyzing delay claims, including the use of forensic scheduling software (e.g., Acumen Fuse, Schedule Cracker, Project Analyzer, etc.) </li><li>Proficiency with schedule risk analysis tools (e.g. Primavera Risk, Deltek Acumen Fuse, @Risk, etc.)  </li><li>Experience with Primavera P6. </li><li>Experience with TILOS and linear scheduling. </li><li>Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite/Office 365 (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.)  </li></ul><p><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong>  </p><ul><li>Master's degree in construction management, quantity surveying, or engineering.  </li><li>Active professional certifications such as PSP or PMI-SP (AACE or PMI). </li><li>Demonstrated success in this role as an owner's representative on large civil infrastructure programs is strongly preferred.</li><li>Proficiency with Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms for building interactive schedule dashboards and KPI visualizations. </li></ul><p><strong>Compensation Details</strong> </p><p>The salary range listed for this role is $170k-$225k/year ($82-$108/hour).
