Supervises and coordinates activities of employees engaged in production machining and repair of metallic or nonmetallic workpieces, applying knowledge of machine shop procedures, machine tool setup, welding, operating techniques, and production machining methods. Manage the application of and supervision of machine shop theories and procedures, shop mathematics, machinability of materials, and layout techniques: Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
