Position duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: Creates and implements a production scheduling system which allows Customer Service to confidently commit to customer order delivery requirements or negotiate a timely alternative to customer requested delivery dates; Creates, monitors, collects, and updates progress on schedule for all equipment resources; Reviews sales orders, and provides dates for customer orders based on customer requests, current capacity, and load; Schedules jobs across all departments, and reviews master production schedule and work orders; Establishes priorities for specific customer orders, and communicates order status cross functionally as required; Attends daily operations meetings, as needed; Works closely with Customer Service regarding daily scheduling issues; Creates a process for expediting high priority production orders, and works with engineers to prioritize engineering jobs; Uses knowledge of capacities and manufacturing constraints to optimize manufacturing resource utilization, and recommends equipment purchases, human resource needs, and material inventory levels; Assists supervisors set priorities for strategic customer orders; Reviews and manages all Kanbans (signboards/scheduling system for lean manufacturing); Works within Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) software to manage manufacturing processes and track inventory; Manages expired material, and escalates potential shortages before they affect production; Confers with department supervisors to determine work progress and to provide information on changes; Conducts data clean-up; Identifies improvement opportunities and drives them to closure; Communicates and works effectively across functional areas; Reviews documents, such as production schedules, staffing tables and specifications, obtain information about materials, priorities, and personnel requirements; Escalates issues and concerns to supervisor and others as appropriate; Closes out jobs as necessary; Completes other projects and/or tasks as assigned to support business needs; Works with Facilities and Maintenance departments to schedule equipment calibrations and preventative maintenance for “on time” completion of activities. Bachelor’s degree in Operations or Business Management or similar field, or a minimum of 3 years’ equivalent combination of education and experience in manufacturing/production setting or related field; 3+ years of relevant planning experience; Proficiency in office technology including Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint); Experience in cleanroom manufacturing processes such as molding, trimming, post-cure, tumbling, washing, assembly, packaging, labeling, shipping, transfer molding, milling, microscopes, trimming tools, and bonding equipment; Knowledge of inputs, outputs, raw materials, waste, quality control, costs and techniques for maximizing the manufacture of goods; Ability to challenge oneself to display consistent output by meeting all goals and deadlines; Willingness to strive for production work excellence; free of errors and mistakes; Commitment to continuous improvement company-wide; Excellent communication and interpersonal skills both written and verbal; professional, courteous and friendly personality; clearly conveys ideas and information and receives information effectively; Excellent organizational, problem-solving and time-sensitive skills; Ability to create positive working relationships with a diverse group of people including gender, ethnicity, age, and cultural and skill level differences; Ability to work independently with minimal supervision; Ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines.
