Provides leadership and consultation to assigned staff regarding the performance of their job duties and responsibilitiesAssists in creating and adjusting building assignments for psychologists and psychology support specialists across the districtCoordinates process of recruitment and hiring of psychology department staff and psychology internsProvides leadership, consultation, and technical assistance to psychologists through individual contacts, small group meetings, staff meetings and written correspondenceCoordinates referrals for psychology consultations where applicableProvides consultation and technical assistance to teachers, administrators, parents, and the community at large on psychological disorders and related subjectsEncourages the ongoing professional development of psychologists by arranging, approving, and/or providing relevant training opportunitiesRecommends budget items to support appropriate programming that aligns with district initiativesAttends meetings and develops program options for students with special education disabilities within the Rockford Public SchoolsAssists in the writing and development of district procedures related to special education and psychology servicesWorks with outside agencies (i.e., universities, state, federal and local organizations)Coordinates summer IEP evaluation process QUALIFICATIONS:Professional Educator License with Psychology Pre K Age 21 endorsementPsychology degree from an approved university programAdditional training leading to an administrative endorsement preferredUnderstanding of and experience with diversity of cultures and raceCreative, innovative approach to problem solvingCollaborative leadership style KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Strong organizational, administrative and supervisory skillsOutstanding skills in writing, speaking and listening WORKING CONDITIONS: Moderate in-district travel as well as intermittent in-state and out-of-state travel.
