Closely collaborating with the County-wide safety and emergency personnel and the Public Information Officer (PIO), this role serves as the key point person responsible for facilitating staff safety training, identifying and mitigating risks, and acting as a safety officer within the Public Works department during incidents including emergencies, disasters, and severe weather events. This role will primarily engage with a wide range of stakeholders, including managers, office and field staff within Public Works divisions such as Parks and Lands, Clean Water, Roads Maintenance and Operations, Transportation, Engineering, and Construction, as well as with department leadership.
