Physical Requirements May be subjected to adverse working conditions or physical conditions including possible injury in the apprehension of violators of codes Occasionally lift at least 50 pounds May be required to use protective devices such as steel-toed shoes, handguns, tear gas, and batons May be required to work irregular hours Stand or walk constantly (for up to an entire shift) on various surfaces (tile, concrete, carpet) Climb stairs, ramps, or ladders occasionally during the shift Occasionally bend/twist at waist/knees/neck to perform various duties Run as needed Constant use of arms, hands, and fingers while using phone, notepad, writing reports, and other administrative tasks Constant use of eyes (correctable vision to normal level required) to observe, read, interact with public and co-workers, and view security monitors; includes hand/eye coordination Work in various environments including adverse outdoor conditions such as cold, rain, or heat; Constant mental alertness and attention to detail are required while setting priorities and following up on assignments Must be able to stay alert and awake at all times. Requirements Candidates must possess a High School Diploma or GED, be at least 21 years of age, possess a valid driver's license, and currently must be licensed to carry a firearm through the Watchman's Division, St. Louis County Private Security Section.
