Responsibilities:
Production Buyer Responsibilities:<ul><li>Evaluate supplier scorecards including on-time delivery, quality, responsiveness and pricing</li><li>Develop alternative suppliers to reduce risk and support continuity</li><li>Work closely with plant leadership to ensure uninterrupted material flow to production</li><li>Resolve shortages, late deliveries, quality holds, and supply chain disruptions quickly.</li><li>Support new product launches through material readiness and supplier onboarding</li><li>Coordinate engineering changes, BOM updates, and material phase-ins/phase-outs.</li><li>Track KPIs such as OTIF, inventory turns, supplier performance, purchase price variance, schedule attainment and forecast accuracy.</li><li>Inquire, select, and purchase materials required for the proper operation of the business</li><li>Build relationships with suppliers and negotiate for the best price and delivery terms</li><li>Ensure the system is updated with current product details and due dates</li><li>Work with domestic, foreign, and custom suppliers on incoming material</li><li>Work with suppliers and carriers to improve the delivery process</li><li>Confirm material orders meet on-time-delivery requirements</li><li>Create entries for and track the progress of purchase orders</li><li>Review, investigate, and address invoicing discrepancies</li><li>Coordinate with interconnected departments</li><li>Other Purchasing tasks as assigned</li></ul>Production Buyer Qualifications:<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Operations, Business, Engineering, or related field. </li><li>5+ years of experience in manufacturing purchasing, materials management, or supply chain. </li><li>Strong understanding of MRP, BOM structures, lead times.</li><li>Experience negotiating with domestic and international suppliers. </li><li>Advanced Excel and data analysis skills.</li><li>APICS CPIM / CSCP or CPSM certification a plus</li></ul>
