The team provides care for patients having cardiac catheterization (diagnostic and intervention including STEMI), pacemaker and defibrillator insertions, cardiac ablations, nephrostomy tube placement, vertebroplasty, biliary tube placements, lower extremity and peripheral angiograms/interventions. Accreditation - ThedaCare Regional Medical Center-Appleton is one of only two hospitals in the State of Wisconsin to hold both Chest Pain Center with Primary Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) and Resuscitation from the American College of Cardiology (ACC) accreditations from the American College of Cardiology (ACC).
li>Prepare patients for physical examinations, including taking vital signs and any required or requested ancillary testing including but not limited to vaccines and injections, phlebotomy, PFTs, audiogram testing and respirator fit testing (in accordance with state regulations). The Radiologic Technologist & Medical Support Specialist performs routine will perform routine x-ray examinations in accordance with Concentra policies, practices, and procedures and applicable regulations under direct supervision of the treating clinician, as well as supports in other needed areas of the facility.

p>Job Summary: At the direction of a radiologist or other providers, prepares patients and performs specialized clinical procedures (i.e. surgical procedures, fluoroscopic-guided pain injections, limited non-contrast CT Scanning) according to specific guidelines and prescribed protocols. Demonstrates expertise with specialized clinical equipment (i.e. surgical c-arms, fluoroscopy, CT Scanner) and utilizes appropriate radiation protection measures within the assigned specialty area.
li> Practices safety at all times, which includes adhering to ALARA (as low as reasonably achievable) principles for proper radiation safety for team members and patients using mobilization and immobilization devices, following safe patient handling practices, following infection prevention practices (proper personal protective equipment), and following hand hygiene to comply with government agencies or other regulatory bodies. QUALIFICATIONS: • Graduate of an accredited ultrasound program • Hospital experience • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) • ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography) registered or registry eligible or ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists-Ultrasound) registered or registry eligible or CCI (Cardiovascular Credentialing International) registered or registry eligible • If registry eligible, MUST be registered within six months of date of hire. li>Technologist specializing in Magnetic Resonance Imaging credentialed from the American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
