This individual, under general supervision and/or detailed instruction, assists the technologists in preparing patients and examination rooms for diagnostic imaging procedures, and is involved in close patient contact throughout the procedure, performing basic patient care duties; transports patients to and from Imaging and Diagnostic Services Department; processes patient x-ray films using an automatic processor; and performs a variety of clerical functions such as sorting, filing and film retrieval. The Radiology Aide has clinical contact with patients in all age groups (neonatal, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, geriatric) and is able to appropriately assess, care for and treat them according to the age appropriate care guidelines as defined by Covenant HealthCare.
