strong>Essential Responsibilities:
Able to assist lead technologist or radiology leadership by coordinating new employee training and orientation, and identifying staff training issues, able to assist lead technologist in monitoring work flow and assigning tasks to other staff to address issues and participating in operational policy and procedures development as appropriate. Prepares Radiology rooms for patient procedures, develops images, maintains supply levels, ensures diagnostic equipment is maintained and properly working within manufacturer specifications.
Placement on the faculty salary schedule will commensurate with educational background and experience per the Faculty Negotiated Agreement (Article 4.00 Academic Employee Compensation ). They prepare patients for the procedure, position patients with considerations for safety and image accuracy, ensure proper imaging protocols are followed, and work closely with radiologists to obtain high-quality images for accurate diagnosis.
If selected, you'll be responsible for performing diagnostic mammograms (at least 80% of the time) as well as assisting physicians with diagnostic procedures, including either stereotactic biopsies or ultrasound guided procedures, in accordance with department policy and procedure. For jobs with more than one level, the posted range reflects the minimum of the lowest level and the maximum of the highest level.
Must have completed didactic training to include 40 initial mamography education hours and 8 hours of digital breast tomography prior to start date. A Mammography Technologist in the Breast Center is responsible for performing screening mammograms and providing exceptional patient care.
