Functioning under the policies of Antelope Valley Medical Center (AVMC), the L&D RN assesses maternal and fetal status, develops and implements the plan of care, supports patients through labor and delivery, assists with vaginal and cesarean births, and serves as the patient advocate to ensure safety and quality outcomes throughout the childbirth experience. Additional duties may be assigned by AVMC as necessary to meet operational and patient-care needs: Perform comprehensive maternal and fetal assessments and develop, implement, and evaluate an individualized plan of care for each patient through the antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum phases.
