Assists the Manager in accountability for ongoing delivery of patient care in area(s) of responsibility; assures application of the nursing process by Registered Nurses in the clinical setting (assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation); assures documentation of patient care in the medical record. Maintains daily unit operations including the status of staffing, patient visits and/or admissions, discharges and transfers, serving as a resource to department/unit staff to guide patient care delivery.
