Overview: This is a hybrid role, with the expectation that time working will regularly take place inside and outside of a company office. This Second Line of Defense role is responsible for assessment and oversight of risks taken by the Bank at an advanced level of ability. Oversees First Line of Defense activities through objective risk assessment, effective challenge, monitoring, and reporting of the Bank's Risk Profile, including top and emerging risks. Provides leadership, consultation, and support for risk management techniques, practices, and procedures that protect the Bank from loss or exposure. Facilitates the development of analyses and reports to support the appropriate identification, assessment, monitoring, and reporting of new or existing risks. Assists in the review and enhancement of internal controls. Maintains a strong knowledge of new or emerging risk management techniques and trends through professional networking and industry involvement. Develops collaborative partnerships with internal departments, external auditors, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders to support the company's Risk Management Framework. May provide guidance to less experienced associates in the department. Operational Risk Management (ORM) has an exciting opportunity for a governance and reporting Risk Officer II.  This role reports to the leader of Operational Risk Governance and Reporting.   The Risk Officer II will partner with key stakeholders across the ORM team to construct and deliver management, board and regulatory reporting.   They will support ORM committee management as well as the development, management and maintenance of relevant governance documents spanning policies, standards and procedures.  Finally, they will play a critical role in ensuring robust governance within Operational Risk and across all operational risk types.   The right candidate for this role will provide leadership, innovation, and management necessary to construct and communicate the operational risk profile both internally and externally.  Responsibilities: <ul><li>Risk Oversight & Monitoring - Provides objective oversight of risks through effective challenge using defined methodologies and subject matter expertise. Provides leadership, consultation, and support for risk management. Fosters business unit relationships and implements training to promote engagement in risk management programs, including compliance with all risk policies and standards. May assist with presentations, workshops, and other materials as necessary to communicate risk management tactics. May provide guidance to less experienced associates in the department.</li><li>Risk Management Proficiency - Maintains a strong knowledge of risk management developments or changes within the organization, industry, and market. Develops active relationships within professional networks to stay current on emerging issues and regulatory requirements. Communicates risk vision and regulatory requirements to applicable stakeholders, including less experienced associates in the work group.</li><li>Business Support - Provides support for business programs, initiatives, and leaders. Serves as a consultant on risk best practices, processes, and regulatory requirements. Facilitates reporting and interdepartmental collaboration.</li><li>Exam Support - Assists with internal audits through partnership with both internal and external auditors. Works closely with regulatory agencies and assists regulatory exams.
