Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit with a patient ratio of 1:5–6, managing diagnoses including diabetes, COPD, sepsis, pneumonia, GI bleed, anemia, encephalopathy, hip fracture, and COVID-19. Administer blood products, manage IV insulin protocols, heparin, and PCA pumps, and perform central line blood draws, PICC line management, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care.
