Facility Maintenance Technician (ROSA) NOLA Public SchoolsFacility Maintenance Technician (ROSA)New Orleans, LouisianaConducts regular inspections of school facilities to identify and address maintenance needs related to HVAC systems, lighting, plumbing, electrical systems, and general building structures; Diagnoses and repairs malfunctions in various school facilities, including classrooms, administrative offices, gymnasiums, and outdoor areas; Responds promptly to emergency maintenance situations, such as power outages, equipment failures, or other critical incidents, to minimize disruption to daily school activities; Ensures the safety and cleanliness of outdoor areas, including playgrounds and sports fields; Coordinates with school administrators, teachers, and other staff to address maintenance concerns and schedule repairs in a way that minimizes disruption to academic activities; Maintains accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment inventory. - Required to use motor coordination with finger dexterity (such as keyboarding, machine operation, etc.) part of the workday; - Required to exert physical effort in handling objects more than 30 pounds rarely; - Required to be exposed to physical occupational risks (such as cuts, burns, exposure to toxic chemicals) rarely; - Required to be exposed to physical environment which involves dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes or similar elements rarely; - Normal setting for this job is an office/school setting.
