p>• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required, must be from an American Heart Association (AHA) endorsed program (effective for new hires starting January 1, 2023 or later).

p>Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in adult critical care environment and level III NICU required, Pulmonary function, pulmonary procedure and ECMO experience preferred, academic teaching institution preferred. POSITION SUMMARY: Functions as a working shift resource to provide direct oversight, assistance, support and problem resolution to Respiratory Staff and may be scheduled for regular staff assignment as needed or requested.
ACCOUNTABILITIES: Serves as the Coordinator of Clinical Education with responsibility for directing all aspects of the clinical experiences for students enrolled in the program, including organizing, administering, reviewing, and revising clinical instruction and outcomes for evolving practice skills, developing clinical locations (with appropriate supervision) and overseeing the general effectiveness of the clinical experience. Participates in departmental activities and operations by assisting in the review and development of credit and non-credit programs and/or courses, seeking and maintaining contact with business and industry within the specialized field of instruction, assisting in articulation initiatives, maintaining educational equipment and spaces, and requisitioning instructional equipment, supplies or classroom materials.
div> Demonstrate proficiency in critical and general care procedures including patient assessment, ventilator management, arterial punctures, code III response, bronchoscopy assistance, intubation, monitoring equipment, airway management, endo/nasotracheal suctioning, and arterial line placement, aerosol therapy, IPPB, CPT, oxygen therapy, incentive spirometry, aerochamber/inhaler, and peak flow meters. Cardiopulmonary disorders are life-challenging and as a registered respiratory therapist, you understand arterial puncture or cannulation, artificial airway types and sizes, initial ventilatory settings for mechanical ventilation, ventilator changes based on established parameters and patient assignments to staff based on skills inventory.
