We work as a highly integrated team and job responsibilities will include helping other programs to ensure the overall success of SpaceX.RESPONSIBILITIES:Oversee and own the day-to-day EHS site management of a fast-paced, high impact construction project including the responsibilities below:Implement, enforce, and audit the site's construction contractor EHS management program for SpaceX employees involved in or associated with contractor operations, ensuring requirements are understood and followed by contractors and subcontractors performing work for SpaceXDevelop and maintain documented safety observations from regular hazard identification inspections of facilities, machinery, safety equipment, and on-site construction to identify, mitigate hazards, and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and/or guidelines established by OSHA, NFPA and NIOSH and other applicable regulatory agenciesCollaborate with department leadership to complete job hazard assessments, establish Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements, determine safeguards, and implement health and safety policies and procedures to increase safety across all construction sites and projectsAbility to monitor and evaluate employee exposure to hazards during nominal processes or emergency situationsDevelop recommendations for remedial actions when safety policies are not met by employeesEducate and provide necessary safety training to construction personnelInvestigate and write corresponding reports for incidents, spills, injuries, or occupational diseases to determine root causes, establish corrective actions and preventive measuresDevelop and maintain compliance with all applicable regulations established by the EPA, RCRA, DOT and other applicable regulatory agenciesEnsure that resources are allocated appropriately to safety-related itemsBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelors degree1+ years of experience in the design, development and operational oversight of environmental, health and safety disciplines within the construction industry (internships may qualify)PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:Bachelor's degree in engineering with an emphasis in occupational health and safetyExperience in health and safety with commercial/industrial construction projectsConstruction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) certificationCertified Safety Professional (CSP)Proficient with the management of high-risk activities including steel fabrication and erection, electrical safety, excavation, confined space, machine guarding, fall protection, material handling, rigging and heavy equipmentBilingual in English and SpanishStrong knowledge and experience in interpreting, applying and documenting federal, state and local safety and environmental regulationsStrong organizational and communication skillsExperience using Uniform Plumbing and Building Codes, National Electric CodeFamiliarity and implementation of machine guarding and industrial hygiene programsExperience with emergency response communication and incident management in incidents involving hazardous and non-hazardous material releases to air, soil, and waterMicrosoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:This isnot a remote or hybrid position and will require relocation if not already local to the Cape Canaveral, FL areaPosition occasionally requires the ability to work extended hours and weekends when neededAbility to pass Air Force background check for Cape Canaveral

Role Overview The Project Safety Coordinator serves as the field safety leader supporting crews, foremen, operators, and project managers across multiple powerline projects. The role reinforces Irby's Ownership of Safety culture, integrates safety into daily execution, and drives hazard recognition, incident prevention, training, and compliance.

What You'll Do:
Core Responsibilities   Lead and reinforce Irby's Ownership of Safety culture across active jobsites.  Embed safety planning into daily operations, from pre-job planning through completion or final energization.   Coach crews to identify hazards in real time and take corrective action without disrupting safe production.   Lead tailgate talks, site meetings, and on-the-job safety training.   Manage incident investigations, root cause analysis, reporting, and corrective actions.   Maintain accurate documentation and support compliance with OSHA and client requirements.   Partner with field leadership to improve safe work practices and reduce operational risk. Discipline-Specific Scope Transmission Projects   Structure erection, rigging, and wire stringing   Grounding and heavy equipment operations   Energized line work and related transmission activities   Coordination of safety planning from pre-construction through completion Distribution Projects   Pole setting and framing   Conductor installation and tensioning   Underground cable pulling and splicing   Transformer, switchgear, bucket truck, digger derrick, and live-line operations

What You'll Bring:
Minimum Requirements   5+ years of field safety or leadership experience in transmission powerline construction, distribution powerline construction, or   losely related heavy construction work.   Strong communication and leadership skills with field credibility.   Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.   Experience with safety reporting systems, digital documentation, and compliance records.   Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within Florida or surrounding states.
