Additional Information: Must possess the ability to: • Build positive relationships with students in support of their academic and social development • Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interest of the students • Guide the learning process toward the achievement of IEP goals and establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, projects, and the like to communicate these objectives to students • Employ instructional methods and materials that are most appropriate for meeting stated objectives • Possess a Masters degree with extensive coursework and counseling • Hold Massachusetts certification as a school adjustment counselor • Have experience in conducting elementary groups, play therapy, and other forms of psychotherapy • Have individual and group experience working with children and parents • Successfully complete a Criminal Record Check (C.O.R.I.) and national background check • Have alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.
