At VDCI, we have a strong focus on preventing the spread of diseases through mosquito control. We complete mosquito surveillance and preventative services, as well as large-scale spraying.</p><p>Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:</p><ul><li>Thoroughly spray assigned zones as instructed by the contract supervisor.</li><li>Properly use GPS monitor equipment nightly as instructed, and report any malfunctions immediately.</li><li>Accurately record all required data from each spray mission on the appropriate log sheet.</li><li>Be thoroughly familiar with all applicable chemical labels and Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and handle/apply all chemicals according to label specifications.</li><li>Know and follow proper safety and spill procedures at all times, and use all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).</li><li>Know and follow the proper and safe operations of all equipment used.</li><li>Fully support, enforce, promote and implement the companys safety policies and programs.</li><li>React to change promptly and effectively, and handle other essential tasks as assigned.</li></ul><p>Work is regularly performed outdoors and may include exposure to potentially hazardous situations and substances such as weather conditions, challenging and uneven/unstable terrain, pesticides, dust and airborne particulates, excessive noise, biting insects, hazardous plants, and wild and domestic animals. Must be capable of lifting and using items such as chemical containers and application equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.</p><p>Safely operate a motor vehicle and make sure it and all other equipment is kept clean.</p><p>Essential Job Functions:</p><ul><li>Demonstrated attention to detail.</li><li>Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.</li><li>Open to learning and becoming knowledgeable in the area of pest control.</li><li>Comfortable with self-directed working conditions after a training period.</li></ul><p>What do you need?</p><ul><li>High school diploma or GED; related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.</li><li>Possess a valid drivers license from state of residence.</li><li>Solid reading, writing, and verbal communication skills and the ability to present information in both internal and external settings.</li><li>Basic math skills - add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.</li><li>Youll need to be able to follow instructions for mixing on product labels.</li><li>With our help youll need to maintain the licenses/certificates as required by federal, state, and/or local regulations.</li><li>Customer-facing experience preferred.</li></ul><p>Base Pay Range</p><p>Hourly: $15.00 - $25.00</p><p>While starting pay falls within the given range, it can vary based on factors like geographic location, skills, education, and experience.
