SCREENOUT: Have experience, with close supervision, performing the duties which includes performing journeyman level electrical work including a wide range of commercial, industrial, residential and new construction services and repair; repairing and replacing broken, worn, damaged or poorly operating wiring, fixtures, controls and equipment; using test instruments such as ammeters, meggers, and test lamps; trouble shooting and repairing difficult electrical problems such as intermittent, open or shorted circuits; applying a knowledge of electrical theory and a working knowledge of the National Electrical Code; reading, interpreting, and utilizing blueprints, wiring diagrams, sketches, and drawings used in the electrical trade; using a variety of electrical equipment, tools, and test equipment; using formulas basic to the electrical trade; and using a variety of electrical equipment, tools, and test equipment. The primary purpose of this position is to repair defective electrical wiring, controls, equipment, and fixtures in visitor centers, offices, ranger stations, museums, collection storage facilities, hotels, restaurants, maintenance facilities, public buildings, employee housing areas, residences, restrooms, campgrounds, ships, boats, trains, garages, and/or shops.
