p>Ability to: Consult with dieticians and adhere to applicable nutrition requirements, apply and follow detention policies, regulations, security measures and dietary guidelines, comprehend and make inferences from written material and follow written and verbal instructions, deal impartially with individuals of various socioeconomic, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds, adhere to budgets for purchases of food service equipment, develop and maintain effective working relationships with associates, employees of other departments, representatives of other organizations, County officials, and the public, keep management informed of key operating issues affecting the department, remain current in knowledge required to perform assigned duties, handle confidential matters and maintain discretion always, act with courtesy, tact, and diplomacy. Must successfully pass a pre-employment character and fitness background investigation, including but not limited to: fingerprinting and criminal history records check, (MVD) driving records check, psychological evaluation, submit to and pass an alcohol and illegal drug use screening, meet and be able to perform the required training and job duties with or without reasonable accommodation; may be required to successfully pass a polygraph examination, physical examination, and/or credit check.
