p>Some knowledge of the tools, materials and equipment used in coastal site maintenance, including cleaning and light repair of beach access structures, restrooms, and signage; some knowledge of the materials and techniques used in the care of public-use coastal areas; some knowledge of safety precautions applicable to beach environments, including heat exposure, debris, and weather-related hazards; ability to inspect and identify maintenance issues along crossovers and public beach areas; ability to perform manual labor in an outdoor environment for extended periods of time, including walking on sand and in high heat/humidity; ability to interact professionally with the public and provide basic information to beachgoers; ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and the general public.
