This position monitors State and Federal actions which impact Marylandâs Army and National Guard military installations and related facilities; actively promotes the missions of the Army and National Guard installations and missions; participates in local military alliances and defense-affiliated organizations; informs and leverages support from members of Marylandâs Congressional Delegation, State officials and the business community; collaborates with Department of Defense stakeholders to ensure the economic vitality of Army and National Guard programs in the state through business opportunity and job creation, and mission support; assist with program performance and management of defense-related grants to further defense diversification, technology commercialization and defense community resilience planning activities in the state. The selected candidate will possess excellent written, oral, and decision-making skills, excellent interpersonal skills. ability to handle multiple, concurrent, and high priority projects; knowledge of programs and resources provided by Federal, State and local government that support economic development, technology, commercialization; ability to interact professionally with senior defense and elected officials is essential.
