p/>Public Safety Officer (Safety/Security Officer III), once trained, equipped, and authorized, will be required to effectively and proactively handle situations that may involve acts of violence necessitating a higher level of security and protective response, which may involve the use of physical force and/or defensive weapons up to, and including, deadly force. Public Safety Officer (Safety/Security Officer III) will be required to be physically fit; have the ability to stand and/or walk up to 12 hours per shift; be physically able to respond quickly and appropriately to emergency situations; and be able to use physical force to defend themselves or others, or to detain persons for arrest.
