Responds to threats or acts of violence towards patients, staff, and/or visitors; hostage situations; adult/child abductions to include cordon of perimeter area; patient elopement; person down; emergency intake; fire alarms by responding to the location of incident and assist in fire suppression; severe weather; access control; hospital system failure; bomb threat or suspicious package and assist personal in searching area(s) in which the threat was made; hazardous materials/chemical spills. Investigates accident scenes, searches for and preserves evidence; investigates and interviews witnesses; makes oral and written reports; responds to varying situations with tact and diplomacy and deals with stressful, hostile or irrational person(s), whether due to physical or mental disability, drugs, or socio-economic differences or other factors and recommends legal action if needed.
