This facility will be powered by natural gas with provisions for future hydrogen integration, underscoring our commitment to green steel and decarbonization.Role OverviewThe Senior Advisor - Planning (DRI) will be responsible for developing and managing the integrated project schedule for the DRI plant. This includes coordinating inputs from engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and logistics teams to build a comprehensive, logical, and trackable schedule. The role requires ensuring proper sequencing, identifying critical paths, providing early delay warnings, and aligning stakeholders for timely decision-making throughout the project lifecycle.Job Responsibilities The Senior Advisor - Planning (DRI) will be responsible for the following:<ul><li style="margin-left:8px">Develop and maintain a Level 1 to Level 5 project schedule encompassing engineering, procurement, construction, pre-commissioning, and commissioning phases.</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Collaborate with discipline leads and contractors to collect schedule inputs and progress updates.</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Identify and monitor critical paths, key milestones, and potential schedule risks.</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Support the creation of baseline schedules, recovery plans, and "what-if" scenarios.</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Coordinate with cost control and project controls teams to ensure integrated planning efforts.</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Prepare regular schedule updates, dashboards, and detailed management reports.</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Provide early warnings and actionable recommendations to mitigate delays.</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Ensure schedule logic aligns with procurement and construction sequences.</li></ul>Skills and Qualifications<ul><li style="margin-left:8px">Minimum 15 years of experience in planning and scheduling for large industrial projects (preferable in DRI, steel, oil & gas, or infrastructure sectors).</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Proficiency in Primavera P6 and MS Project.</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Strong understanding of EPC lifecycle phases and critical path methodology.</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Experience in interface coordination and delay analysis.</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Excellent communication, reporting, and stakeholder management skills.</li></ul>Education<ul><li>Bachelor's degree in engineering or project management.</li></ul>Physical Requirements<ul><li style="margin-left:8px">Ability to work in both mining and plant environments, including exposure to dust, noise, and varying weather conditions.</li></ul>Salary<ul><li>$95,000 - $130,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.</li></ul>Benefits<ul><li>Health Insurance: Comprehensive medical and dental coverage with an HSA option.</li><li>Retirement Plan: 401(k) with 6% company match.</li><li>Lincoln STD, LTD, & Life Insurance: Coverage provided by Mesabi Metallics.</li><li>Paid Time Off (PTO):<ul><li>0-5 Years: 120 hours per year.</li><li>5-10 Years: 160 hours per year.</li><li>10+ Years: 200 hours per year.</li><li>Plus 9 paid holiday and 2 floating holidays.</li></ul></li></ul> Mesabi Metallics Company LLC is an equal opportunity employer and values diversity in the workplace. The role - what you'll doBarr is seeking an electrical engineer to join our power delivery team. In this hybrid or fully remote role, you will support the power delivery team by performing power system studies, working with multidisciplinary project teams, supporting power system design teams, and providing electrical engineering and related technical expertise. The person in this position will be responsible for:Providing technical leadership by directing the analysis for power studies.
Managing tasks and resources related to power-system analysis and report creation.
Working with the existing studies team to streamline workflow.
Coaching and mentoring less-experienced staff.
Managing teams to meet clients needs.
Communicating studies and relevant results to client representatives.A successful person in this role will have strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills. Tasks will also involve performing or leading load flow, short circuit, harmonic, and other miscellaneous studies, along with corresponding report preparation and working with multidisciplinary design teams to provide high-quality project deliverables.Project management: proposal development including defining work scopes, deliverables, schedules, and budgets. Assist with planning, coordinating, and executing projects. Help ensure project milestones are met and provide regular updates to team members and clients.Staff development: support the growth and development of team members.Collaboration: build and sustain strong relationships with clients and internal teams. Compensation will vary based on relevant experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors. Employees in this position may also be eligible for a discretionary cash bonus based on team and individual performance.
