Defines the responsibilities and accountability of staff members and develops plans for interpreting the school program to the community.</li><li>Provides activities which facilitate the professional growth of the school staff and enhance the quality of the instructional program.</li><li>Identifies the annual objectives for the instructional, extracurricular, and athletic programs of the school.</li><li>Ensures that instructional objectives for a given subject and/or classroom are developed, and involves the faculty and others in the development of specific curricular objectives to meet the needs of the school program.</li><li>Evaluates student progress in the instructional program by means that include maintaining up-to-date student data. Supervises and appraises the performance of the school staff.</li><li>Maintains inter-school system communication and seeks assistance from central office staff to improve performance. Maintains good relationships with students, staff, and parents.</li><li>Orients and assists new staff and new students and provides opportunities for their input in the school program.</li><li>Encourages the use of community resources, cooperates with the community in the use of school facilities, interprets the school program for the community, and maintains communication with community members.</li><li>Manages, directs, and maintains records on the materials, supplies, and equipment necessary to carry out the daily school routine. Involves the staff in determining priorities for instructional purposes.</li><li>Organizes, oversees, and provides support to the various services, supplies, materials, and equipment provided to carry out the school program.</li><li>Other duties as assigned.</li></ol><h3>Qualifications</h3><ol><li>Master’s Degree with a minimum of five years’ experience of proven instructional leadership as a Dean, Assistant Principal, Instructional Coach, or 2 or more years experience as a Principal.</li><li>Preference will be given to candidates who have demonstrated fluency in Spanish.</li><li>Successful candidates will demonstrate strong, child-centered instructional leadership skills focused on student growth and achievement.</li><li>Knowledge of common core curriculum, assessment practices, and proven leadership skills in a large setting.</li><li>Related experience in staff supervision and evaluation, curriculum development and monitoring, program assessment, technology, and special education is preferred.</li><li>Current License in school leadership in Tennessee or qualify to achieve licensure within 3 months.</li><li>3+ years of exemplary teaching experience, Experience in Secondary Education.</li><li>5+ years of leadership experience as a school dean, assistant principal, or instructional coach, or 2 or more years experience as a Principal.</li><li>Experience in a turn-around school, charter school, and/or urban school environment not required but preferred.</li><li>Ability and desire to motivate adult learners to improve professional practices.</li><li>Initiative to develop systems and structures to improve teacher practices within your school.</li><li>Strong content knowledge and teaching pedagogy.</li><li>Working knowledge, understanding, and belief in the GLOE & Curriculum Frameworks, Common Core.</li><li>State Standards and ACT College Readiness Standards.</li><li>Effective written and oral communication skills.</li><li>Demonstrates knowledge of Windows platform and Google Drive Software.</li></ol>#J-18808-Ljbffr
