<h4>Overview</h4>This role will serve as scientific lead for our isothermal calorimetry product portfolio, driving advanced applications development, strategic product direction, and high‑impact customer collaborations. This role combines deep domain expertise with leadership in method innovation, competitive analysis, and voice‑of‑customer initiatives to influence next‑generation instrument and software design. The ideal candidate is a recognized expert in calorimetry who can guide internal teams, mentor junior scientists, and elevate our technology’s scientific and commercial impact.<h4>Responsibilities</h4><ul><li>Serve as the principal scientific advisor for R&D, contributing to feature definition, prototype evaluation, and long‑term product roadmap decisions.</li></ul><ul><li>Lead the scientific strategy for microcalorimetry, including developing new applications, workflows, and analysis capabilities.</li></ul><ul><li>Produce high‑quality technical content (application notes, white papers, competitive benchmarking reports) demonstrating scientific leadership.</li></ul><ul><li>Drive high‑value customer engagements—including evaluations, collaborations, and KOL partnerships—to capture deep insights and shape solution development.</li></ul><ul><li>Own complex troubleshooting and advanced technical support for global teams, acting as the escalation point for calorimetry‑related inquiries.</li></ul><ul><li>Represent the microcalorimetry product line at conferences, workshops, webinars, and customer site visits.</li></ul><h4>Qualifications</h4><ul><li>PhD in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biophysics, or a related discipline </li><li>Deep, hands‑on expertise with microcalorimetry including isothermal calorimeters, DSC, and ITC and a broad understanding of its application domains and technical limitations.</li><li>Demonstrated scientific leadership in calorimetry applications, method development, and complex experimental design</li><li>Proven track record of collaborating directly with R&D, engineering, or product teams to influence product features and system capabilities.</li><li>Experience partnering with customers, KOLs, or external collaborators to define requirements, validate workflows, or generate impactful data.</li><li>Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex topics clearly to technical and non‑technical audiences.</li></ul><h4>Company Description</h4>Waters Corporation (NYSE:WAT) is a global leader in analytical instruments, separations technologies, and software, serving the life, materials, food, and environmental sciences for over 65 years. Kforce's client, a growing engineering technology company in Orem, UT, is seeking a Senior RF Design Engineer (Antennas). We are working directly with the hiring manager on this exclusive search assignment. 

Key Responsibilities:
<ul><li> Lead the design and development of advanced phased array antennas, including both active and passive systems</li><li> Design antenna elements, array architectures, feed networks, and beamforming subsystems</li><li> Perform electromagnetic (EM) simulations using tools such as HFSS, CST, ADS, or FEKO</li><li> Develop and optimize beam steering, sidelobe suppression, calibration, and array performance techniques</li><li> Conduct link budget analysis and system-level performance evaluations</li><li> Collaborate cross-functionally with RF, microwave, DSP, and systems engineering teams</li><li> Drive prototyping, integration, testing, and validation in both lab and field environments</li><li> Analyze measurement data and iterate designs to meet performance requirements</li><li> Perform antenna and RF measurements using tools such as VNAs, anechoic chambers, spectrum analyzers, and near-field systems</li><li> Support PCB/PCA design integrating RF, digital, and power functions (Altium preferred)</li><li> Lead board bring-up, debugging, and validation activities</li><li> Develop scripts (Python or MATLAB) for automation, data analysis, and performance evaluation</li><li> Ensure designs meet regulatory, environmental, and reliability standards</li><li> Provide technical leadership and mentor junior engineers</li></ul> Requirements:<ul><li> Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (PhD preferred)</li><li> 5-7+ years of RF hardware design experience</li><li> 3-5+ years of hands-on phased array and antenna design experience</li></ul>
Technical Expertise
<ul><li> Strong foundation in electromagnetics and antenna theory</li><li> Deep understanding of phased array concepts (beam steering, grating lobes, mutual coupling)</li><li> Experience with RF/microwave circuit design</li><li> Proficiency with EM simulation tools (HFSS, CST, FEKO, ADS)</li><li> Hands-on experience with RF measurement and test equipment (VNAs, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, anechoic chambers)</li><li> Experience with antenna measurement techniques (near-field and far-field)</li><li> Proficiency in MATLAB or Python for modeling and data analysis</li><li> Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout tools (preferably Altium)</li></ul>
Nice-to-Have:
