JOB DUTIES:Safely transport students to and from their destinations within the designated campus routes in an efficient manner May assist disabled students into and out of vehicle; may secure wheelchairs to restraining devices to stabilize wheelchairs during tripOperates radio to communicate with the Transit Office or other vehicles Keeps track of passenger headcount and accurately completes all assigned paperworkResponsible for filling the buses with fuel dailyPerforms pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicle, reporting any problems to the appropriate personnelOther duties as assigned by the Director of Transit QUALIFICATIONS: Training and Experience High school diploma or GED equivalent; valid Illinois Class c Commercial Driver's License (CDL); experience in operation of commercial vehicles; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. While performing the duties of this job, employee is regularly required to talk or hear; frequently required to walk, stand, sit, use hands and fingers to handle, feel and make fine adjustments, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl.
