Candidates should possess: Appropriate DPI certification in Special Education; Experience in teaching special education at the middle school level preferred; Knowledge of Functional Behavioral Assessment (FBA), Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP), and Individual Educational Plan (IEP) development; Strong skill set in data analysis, social skill support, and curricular accommodations and modifications; Exceptional skills in using technology/assistive technology to aid instruction; Experience with Response to Intervention (RtI); Certified in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NCI) or willing to be trained; Ability to conduct, coordinate, and facilitate appropriate special education evaluations and Individual Educational Plans in a timely manner; Experience in co-teaching and providing inclusive support in the regular education classroom; Ability to lead, support, and manage paraprofessionals under your direction; Be a collaborative team member that is energetic, compassionate, and creative.
