You will be responsible for registering voters on your assigned campus or within the local community through direct outreach methods like door-to-door canvassing and phone banking. This part-time role involves engaging with students, providing voter information, and ensuring that eligible individuals are registered to vote ahead of upcoming elections. Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Student Outreach: Engage students in conversations about the importance of voting and encourage them to register to vote.</li><li>Voter Registration Assistance: Help students complete voter registration forms, both in-person and online.</li><li>Canvassing & Phone Banking: Conduct door-to-door canvassing and phone banking to connect with students and community members about voter registration.</li><li>Information Dissemination: Provide accurate, nonpartisan information regarding voting procedures, deadlines, and upcoming elections.</li><li>Progress Tracking: Record and report registration activities and results to your campus team lead after each shift.</li><li>Compliance: Ensure voter registration forms are submitted in accordance with election laws and deadlines.</li><li>Health & Safety: Follow health and safety protocols, including COVID-19 precautions, during outreach efforts.</li></ul>Required Qualifications<ul><li>Student Status: Current student or recent graduate from Cheyney University, Lincoln University, Temple University, Drexel University, or University of Pennsylvania.</li><li>Communication Skills: Strong verbal communication and public engagement abilities.</li><li>Civic Enthusiasm: Passionate about civic engagement and increasing student participation in the democratic process.</li><li>Organizational Skills: Ability to work independently, stay organized, and meet registration goals.</li><li>Outreach Comfort: Comfortable with canvassing and phone banking efforts.</li><li>Physical Capability: Ability to walk or stand for up to 6 hours during outreach shifts.</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications<ul><li>Previous experience with voter registration, canvassing, or campaign work.</li><li>Familiarity with voting laws, voter registration procedures, and election guidelines.</li><li>Experience with grassroots organizing or community outreach.</li></ul>Compensation<ul><li>$22/hour</li><li>Bi-weekly pay schedule</li></ul>Professional ReferencesPlease provide at least 1 professional reference who can speak to your experience and qualifications for this role. Job Summary:<ul><li>Safely handle and maneuver tractor/trailers and other large equipment to facilitate the loading and unloading operations in the yard</li><li>Properly cube, load and unload freight using a forklift, pallet jack, hand truck or by hand</li><li>Strap, brace and secure freight to prevent damage or shifting</li><li>Responsible for accurately recording the condition of freight as it arrives at the service center</li><li>Perform pre-shift and post-shift inspections of the yard and dock equipment</li><li>Accurately set up, break down and hook trailers safely</li><li>Ensure all pup trailers have tilt bar to be lowered prior to loading of freight</li><li>Raise and lower landing gear</li><li>Monitor yard for unsafe drivers and non-employees; report to management</li><li>Work in outdoor weather conditions</li><li>Promptly report all maintenance problems to Fleet Services and/or supervision</li><li>Work the dock a minimum of five hours per week in addition to work in the yard as a jockey/hostler</li><li>Scan the Kronos clock and indicate dock versus jockey time for tracking purposes</li><li>Regular attendance is required.</li><li>This is not an all-inclusive list of job requirements and/or duties and may not contain all mental and physical capabilities necessary to perform the job at all times due to circumstances. Employees are expected, and must be able to perform all such duties and tasks.</li></ul>Qualifications:<ul><li>High School Diploma or General Educational Degree (GED), or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background</li><li>Must be able to handle the duties assigned for the driver trainee program</li><li>Must be 21 years of age required per FMCSA regulations</li><li>Must have an outstanding performance record with Estes (not limited to, but in no instance should there be a final written warning within the previous 90 day period or show a pattern or progression of continued disciplinary action)</li><li>Must have and maintain an acceptable MVR.
