This position is responsible for supporting the planning, maintenance, and day-to-day functioning of residential facilities to ensure safe, efficient, and well-maintained housing environments for students at the main CAU campus. SUMMARY: The Student Life Coordinator for Housing Operations coordinates the operational and logistical functions of CAU Housing that are not directly student-development focused.

<div>SUMMARY: The Student Life Coordinator for Housing Operations coordinates the operational and logistical functions of CAU Housing that are not directly student-development focused. This position is responsible for supporting the planning, maintenance, and day-to-day functioning of residential facilities to ensure safe, efficient, and well-maintained housing environments for students at the main CAU campus. Core responsibilities include housing logistics, student occupancy processes, building inspections, and coordination of maintenance and facilities needs. This position maintains coverage of the front housing office in conjunction with the Student Life Coordinator for Residence Life and the Resident Assistants. The Student Life Coordinator must uphold the philosophy and mission of the University while instilling positive and progressive attitudes in all employees.    JOB REQUIREMENTS include but are not limited to the following:   COMPLIANCE: <ul><li>Responsible for compliance with Federal and State legislation pertaining to all personnel matters. </li><li>Ensure that all employees are held accountable to the company’s policies and procedures and applicable laws.</li><li>Ensure completeness, accuracy, and security of employee files.</li><li>Direct, train and review necessary policies and procedures with employees to ensure a culture of compliance.</li></ul> ESSENTIAL DUTIES:Housing Operations and Logistics<ul><li>Coordinate day-to-day Housing Operations to ensure functional, safe, and efficient residential facilities.</li><li>Support planning and execution of housing operational cycles, including peak periods and special initiatives.</li><li>Maintain housing office coverage and support front-line operational workflows.</li><li>Serve as a primary point of contact for housing operations inquiries.</li></ul>Occupancy and Facilities Coordination<ul><li>Support student occupancy processes, including room assignments, vacancy tracking, and housing rosters.</li><li>Coordinate move-in and move-out logistics to ensure operational readiness.</li><li>Assist with routine building inspections, including health, safety, and facilities checks.</li><li>Submit, track, and follow up on maintenance and facilities work orders.</li><li>Monitor building conditions and escalate maintenance or safety concerns as appropriate.</li></ul>Systems, Records, and Planning Support<ul><li>Assist with maintenance and accuracy of housing operations databases and records.</li><li>Support inventory tracking for housing supplies and operational materials.</li><li>Assist with operational reporting and documentation.</li></ul>Day-to-Day Coordination<ul><li>Provide day-to-day task coordination and operational support during assigned shifts.</li><li>Assist with workflow prioritization and coverage coordination.</li><li>Communicate operational expectations clearly while deferring personnel authority to the Director of Student Affairs.</li><li>Escalate staff-related concerns to the Director of Student Affairs as appropriate.</li></ul>Collaboration and Role Boundaries<ul><li>Work in close coordination with the Student Life Coordinator for Residence Life to support student-facing needs.</li><li>Refer student conduct, engagement, and community matters to Residence Life staff.</li><li>Support Residence Life initiatives indirectly through facilities readiness and logistics.</li><li>Provide operational support to the Director of Student Affairs as requested.</li><li>Perform other duties as assigned.</li></ul> QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to carry out each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.  Reasonable accommodations will be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:Experience in customer service preferred.   Associate’s degree (AA) or equivalent, or six months to one-year experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Additionally, one or two years’ related experience and/or training in university programming, residence life, and education preferred. OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:Ability to interact in a pleasant and professional manner with all types of people.  Ability to work well under pressure, manage multiple priorities, set and meet deadlines and manage unexpected situations.  Strong technology skills necessary. TRAVEL DEMANDS:Travel to various conferences and/or trainings may require overnight stays, and the number of nights is dictated by company and/or by the schedule of events.The employee must have the ability to travel to various locations as necessary.  Must have vehicle suitable to safe and secure transportation.  The employee may be required to transport company documents and/or company assets. LANGUAGE SKILLS:Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business communications, financial reports, legal documents, and some government reports.   Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from students, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.  Ability to write correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information to students, top management and/or public groups. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.   Ability to compute percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.  REASONING ABILITY:Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.   PHYSICAL DEMANDS:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential duties of this job.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties.
