Part-Time, Adult Education Instructor<ul><li>496533</li><li>Bowling Green</li><li>Staff</li><li>Part-time</li><li>Southcentral KY Community & Technical College</li></ul>Add to favorites View favoritesTitle: Part-Time, Adult Education InstructorSalary Range: $22 per hourContract Term Length: Not ApplicableStandard Hours: 20 - 24 hours / week (mix of daytime and evening hours)Work Location: On-SiteFLSA Status: Non-ExemptCollege: Southcentral KY Community & Technical CollegeCampus Location: KATI CampusDepartment: Adult EducationJob SummaryProvides targeted instruction in English Language Training (ESL) which will prepare refugee-status students for vocational training programs.Students will receive targeted career coursework featuring contextualized vocabulary, career-specific language and real-life interactive workplace scenarios to help students attain, succeed in and transition to a new career.Job Duties:Reports directly to the Director of Adult Education and provides multi-level, multi-subject instruction to students through in-person and online formats.Responsible for the following:<ul><li>Provides targeted instruction in career and vocational ESL and administers formal and informal assessments.</li><li>Provides contextualized, academic and workplace education to adult students 18 years and older.</li><li>Plans, implements, documents, and evaluates instructional practices, procedures, and materials for assigned classes and incorporates technology and digital tools into instructional delivery.</li><li>Administers and interprets appropriate placement and diagnostic assessments for adult students and formally and informally assesses and monitors learning.</li><li>Provides classroom management, applies research-based instructional practices, and facilitates student learning that occurs outside of the classroom.</li><li>Maintains learning plans for each student and maintains student records.</li><li>Adheres to all Kentucky Adult Education and Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College policies and procedures, including fulfilling professional development.</li><li>Other duties as assigned.</li></ul>Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree and two years related experience required; degree in education or content-related field is preferred.Score of NRS level 6 in Reading on the TABE A 11/12 assessment. Successfully earns a passing GED Ready score in subject areas being taught. Must be able to work daytime and evening hours.
