Major Responsibilities and Duties: Student Support: Provide instructional support to assigned students in general education classrooms Assist students with academic tasks, organization, and engagement during instruction Support implementation of IEP accommodations and modifications as directed by the teacher Assist students with transitions, routines, and classroom expectations Provide behavioral support in accordance with Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) when applicable. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of special education inclusion practices Ability to follow IEPs, behavior plans, and teacher direction with fidelity Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, service providers, and administrators Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to maintain confidentiality in accordance with FERPA and district policy Ability to manage student behavior using positive and proactive strategies.
