Works collaboratively with the Director of Counseling, Director of Housing and Residence Life, and the Senior Director, Center for student Well-Being on substance use education and prevention.

The Student Health Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating student health services through a holistic and evidence-based approach that fosters physical, emotional, and mental well-being. The Manager develops and implements health programs, provides direct care and referrals, ensures regulatory compliance, supports health education, and collaborates with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to promote and sustain a healthy campus environment.FLCC is committed to diversity, equity and inclusion, and strives to provide an environment that embodies these principles. required.</li><li>Bachelors degree in Nursing, health promotion or public health (or related field) is preferred.</li><li>Coursework in community needs assessment, program planning and evaluation is preferred.</li><li>Skills and Requirements:</li><li>New York State Licensed Registered Nurse required.</li><li>Certification in Adult CPR/AED/First Aid required.</li><li>Two years of experience in college or community health preferred.</li><li>Experience in health promotion and wellness programming preferred.</li><li>Understanding of public health laws and college health program requirements (FERPA, HIPAA, NYS immunization laws) required.</li><li>Demonstrated interpersonal, communication, leadership, and organizational skills.</li><li>Ability to develop and assess programs based on student needs and data.</li><li>Competence with electronic health records systems (e.g., PyraMED) preferred.</li></ul>Essential Functions:<ul><li>Program Oversight</li><li>Oversees and evaluates student health and wellness programs.</li><li>Develops and maintains policies and procedures related to student health services.</li><li>Conducts health screenings, physical assessments, and maintain student health records.</li><li>Ensures compliance with applicable local, state, and federal regulations (e.g., HIPAA, FERPA).</li><li>Assesses, implements, evaluates, and revises evidence-based strategies to support student wellness.</li><li>Clinical Health Services</li><li>Provides health services within the scope of nursing practice based on College Health Nursing Standards.</li><li>Reviews health histories and immunization records for compliance and completeness.</li><li>Collaborates with contracted physicians, specialists, and external health providers.</li><li>Maintains and monitors secure electronic student health records using PyraMED.</li><li>Administers first aid, over-the-counter medications, and manages inventory and medical supplies.</li><li>Assists students in acquiring health insurance through NY State of Health.</li><li>Training and Support</li><li>Provides health-related training and professional development to college staff.</li><li>Trains campus personnel in health screening techniques, emergency responses, and health protocols.</li><li>Supports orientation and certification efforts for staff regarding student health needs.</li><li>Coordination and Collaboration</li><li>Serves as a liaison to healthcare providers, community agencies, and college departments.</li><li>Represents the College in health-related community partnerships and initiatives.</li><li>Collaborates with academic departments to ensure student medical compliance for specific programs (e.g., Nursing, Therapeutic Massage, EMT).</li><li>Develops and maintains MOUs with local health organizations providing services to the Center for Student Well-Being.</li><li>Crisis Management and Referrals</li><li>Serves as the point of contact for students, faculty, and staff regarding health concerns.</li><li>Refers students to appropriate resources for alcohol/drug addiction and other wellness-related concerns.</li><li>Works collaboratively with the Director of Counseling, Director of Housing and Residence Life, and the Senior Director, Center for student Well-Being on substance use education and prevention.</li><li>Administrative and Fiscal Management</li><li>Reviews the annual budget expenditures related to health services with the Senior Director, Center for Student Well-Being.</li><li>In conjunction with the Senior Director, Center for Student Well-Being, reviews contracts and service agreements.</li><li>Recruits, trains, supervises, and evaluates professional, support, and student staff.</li><li>Uses electronic health data to compile clinical activity reports for internal and external stakeholders.</li><li>Ensures appropriate medication storage and accurate health documentation.</li><li>Advocacy and Promotion</li><li>Advocates for institutional policies that support student health and wellness.</li><li>Develops and promotes health education campaigns, prevention programs, and awareness events.</li><li>Represents the College on committees and task forces addressing student health and wellness.</li><li>Provides medical absence notifications to faculty for hospitalized students as appropriate.</li><li>Professional Engagement</li><li>Maintains current knowledge of effective college health strategies and nursing practices.</li><li>Remains active in professional organizations such as the American College Health Association (ACHA), NYS College Health Association (NYSCHA), and others.</li><li>Attends professional development events and require mobility across campus.</li><li>Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and respond to emergency situations.</li><li>Occasional evening or weekend responsibilities related to health emergencies or events.</li></ul>Benefits and salary range:<ul><li>Applicants receiving benefits through the New York State Retirement System should review state regulations regarding post-retirement employment.</li><li>This position is not eligible for employment under a Section 211 waiver.</li><li>Competitive starting salary in the range of $60,103 - $63,108 and is commensurate with qualifications.</li><li>A flexible work schedule is available upon successful completion of training.</li><li>This position follows a hybrid model, with a combination of on-site and remote
