Responsibilities: The Student Salon + Spa Manager must exhibit certain characteristics and perform specific duties during their daily or weekly routine. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to: <ul><li>Uphold the Nurtur Core Values and Behaviors and Aveda Success Factors </li><li>Demonstrate a strong understanding that the salon/spa industry is "high touch", meaning that it requires strong interpersonal skills and attention to the needs of others </li><li>Serve as a role model by exemplifying professionalism, integrity, and positivity, while adhering to company policies and procedures </li><li>Provide ongoing recognition, support, and motivation for Guest Care team members and students </li><li>Help maintain a cohesive, cooperative work environment through team building and motivation </li><li>Create a sense of urgency, delegate appropriately, and motivate self and team to accomplish objectives </li><li>Lead the Guest Care team in providing excellent services and maximizing school profit </li><li>Manage day-to-day operations of the school including opening and closing procedures, team behavior, and customer intake procedures </li><li>Interview, hire, and train Guest Care team in procedures, policies, and school flow </li><li>Schedule Guest Care team to ensure adequate coverage for the school's needs </li><li>Resolve customer complaints and challenges and provide solutions for team disputes </li><li>Read all guest survey results and celebrate/coach Guest Care team as needed </li><li>Partner with Education Manager to celebrate/coach students and staff on guest survey results </li><li>Drive the initiative of asking every guest to leave a Google review; review Google reviews daily </li><li>Sales Forecasting: run reports, analyze business, and ensure goals are provided to all locations per department, including key performance indicators </li><li>Data management, inventory control, appointment book management, cost reduction </li><li>Drive transactions for service and retail </li><li>Work to create a sustainable infrastructure in which sales can grow </li><li>Assist in developing coaching materials to drive sales </li><li>Participate in Aveda, Nurtur, and Ultraceuticals events including career fairs, marketing events, Earth Month, Beauty for a Cure, etc </li><li>Perform duties as assigned/required to meet business needs </li></ul>Minimum Requirements: <ul><li>High school diploma or GED equivalent; Bachelor's degree a plus </li><li>Minimum of 2 years' continuous retail or customer service experience in a salon or spa required; experience in supervising and training staff is highly preferred </li><li>Exhibit leadership, time-management, organization, self-direction, initiative, resourcefulness, and follow-through with the ability to work at a fast pace and handle multiple tasks and projects at the same time </li><li>Proficiency in point-of-sale (POS) systems and retail management software </li><li>Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills </li><li>Demonstrate extreme professionalism in manner, dress, and conduct </li><li>Demonstrate aptitude to train new team members </li><li>Ability to set and achieve goals, make decisions, and work under strict deadlines </li><li>Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends as-needed </li><li>Strong commitment to customer service excellence and to the Company's mission and vision </li></ul>Travel Requirements: The team member in this position must be able to travel locally to events and for out-of-state training as necessary. The Assistant Director of Student and Community Engagement acts as a key architect for the campus experience, cultivating an environment where every student can find a place to belong and lead. This role oversees the heartbeat of student life-from long-standing campus traditions and athletic spirit to the management of over 100 student organizations-to build a student-ready culture where students are known, supported, and challenged. By creating spaces for connection and hands-on leadership, the Assistant Director helps students develop the interpersonal strengths and resilience needed to thrive both on campus and in their future professional life. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:<ul><li style="line-height:normal">Advise Campus Activities Board (CAB), the student programming board, and oversee major campus programming like Back to Cap Week and Homecoming; provide support for weekly late afternoon, evening, and weekend activities.</li><li>Oversee support for 100+ student organizations, including training, events, budgets, and operations within Engage. Coordinate major engagement initiatives, manage organization records and processes, and collaborate across campus partners to enhance student involvement, space usage, and peer-to-peer connections.</li><li>Cultivates, assesses, and enhances existing campus traditions while designing new mission-centered experiences that reinforce community and student belonging, strengthen institutional identity, advance the university's mission, and align with strategic plan priorities.</li><li>Collaborates closely with Athletics to design and implement initiatives that strengthen campus pride, expand student participation at athletic events, and cultivate a vibrant, connected campus community.</li><li>Manage Stall Talk creation and distribution process. Supervise stall talk intern.</li><li>Facilities Management - Supervise the Harry C. Moores Student Union Student Receptionists and Building Managers including recruiting, hiring, and training students. Serve as point person for Facilities. Create support structure for events booked through Meeting and Event Services to ensure high quality delivery. </li><li>Participate as a member of institutional student success committee. </li></ul> Qualifications:<ul><li style="line-height:normal">Master's degree (M. A.) or equivalent preferred; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.</li><li>Ability to understand, communicate with and effectively interact with people across cultures. Possesses a positive attitude towards cultural differences. Willing to gain knowledge of different cultural practices and world views and determine how those practices and views will factor in during investigations, complaints, reports, findings, etc.</li><li>To perform this job successfully, an individual should have excellent skills in the Microsoft suite of products, inDesign, Canva, and social media platforms.</li><li>Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints.
