Our software suite includes tools for return initiation, warehouse management, value-added services, and re-commerce. As we scale operations and enhance our product offerings, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Architect to help define and implement the architectural direction of our platform.Position Overview The Software Architect will play a critical role in shaping the future of our software platform, designing scalable, secure, and high-performance systems while guiding our organization through digital transformation. This senior-level role requires at least 5 years of architectural experience and extensive hands-on expertise in software development. You will lead the design and development of modular solutions, integrating modern technologies with our business goals and addressing the phased decommissioning of legacy components.Key Responsibilities<ol><li>Architectural Design & Strategy<ul><li>Define the architectural vision and strategy for the platform, ensuring alignment with business objectives.</li><li>Design scalable, modular, and secure systems capable of handling high transaction volumes and large datasets.</li><li>Lead the architecture of core products, such as, RWMS, and RMP, focusing on extensibility and maintainability.</li></ul></li><li>Technical Leadership<ul><li>Provide hands-on technical leadership, mentoring developers, and fostering a collaborative environment.</li><li>Establish and enforce coding standards, system design principles, and development frameworks.</li></ul></li><li>Strategic Planning & Digital Transformation<ul><li>Analyze existing systems and develop strategies for digital transformation, including the phased sunsetting of legacy components.</li><li>Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to ensure the architecture remains robust and adaptable.</li></ul></li><li>Hands-On Development<ul><li>Actively participate in software development, coding, prototyping, and code reviews.</li><li>Develop tools or features to address emerging challenges and high-priority business needs.</li></ul></li><li>Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement<ul><li>Work closely with product managers, developers, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.</li><li>Partner with DevOps and QA teams to ensure reliability, scalability, and performance.</li></ul></li><li>System Integration & API Design<ul><li>Design and manage APIs and integrations with third-party systems (e.g., TMS, ERP, e-commerce platforms like Shopify and Walmart Marketplace).</li><li>Oversee the integration of microservices, ensuring seamless communication between components.</li></ul></li><li>Scalability & Performance Optimization<ul><li>Optimize platform performance to handle complex workflows and high transaction volumes.</li><li>Address bottlenecks and scalability challenges to ensure the platform’s growth readiness.</li></ul></li><li>Security & Compliance<ul><li>Define and enforce security standards and practices to protect sensitive data.</li><li>Implement secure SDLC processes and ensure compliance with industry regulations.</li></ul></li><li>Innovation & Problem Solving<ul><li>Identify opportunities for innovation and propose new technologies to enhance the platform.</li><li>Solve complex technical challenges with practical, forward-thinking solutions.</li></ul></li></ol>Qualifications<ul><li>Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.</li><li>Experience: Minimum 5 years as a Software Architect and 6+ years in software development. Proven experience transitioning from legacy systems to modern architectures is preferred.</li><li>Technical Expertise:</li><li><ul><li>Strong knowledge of system architecture, microservices, SaaS platforms, and distributed systems.</li><li>Proficiency in APIs, cloud computing (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud), and modern frameworks.</li><li>Hands-on experience in designing scalable, high-performance solutions.</li></ul></li><li>Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and mentor development teams with excellent communication and collaboration abilities.</li><li>Domain Knowledge: Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), returns management, or reverse logistics is highly desirable.</li><li>Skills:</li><li><ul><li>Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.</li><li>Strong strategic thinking with the ability to align technical solutions with business goals.</li></ul></li></ul>     </div>
