Duties of an Undergraduate Writing Consultant • Work one-on-one with students at every stage of the writing process (brainstorming, researching, outlining, drafting, revising, and editing), offering support with argument, thesis, audience, purpose, evidence, organization, grammar, and style • Support writers from a wide range of disciplines and across genres, including research papers, essays, lab reports, proposals, resumes, and personal statements • Write session notes following each tutoring session and thoughtfully implement feedback to support your ongoing growth • Participate in a paid orientation and training program that includes orientation, regular staff meetings, peer observations, and one-on-one mentoring • Collaborate with directors on tasks, special projects, outreach, and presentations as needed • Engage actively in orientation, training sessions, staff meetings, and observations • Work in the CWE a minimum of 7 hours per week and a maximum of 20 hours per week, based on CWE needs.
