Interns are not allowed to perform any work prohibited by the Department of Labor (DOL) as described in the federal youth employment regulations including the DOL’s Hazardous Occupations Orders which prohibit minors to work with power-driven hoisting equipment (forklifts, skid-steers, backhoes, manlifts, etc.), power-driven chain saws or any cutting machinery, among others. PPE: Required safety items includes but is not limited to; safety glasses, steel-toed boots, gloves, hearing protection, high visibility vest, hair and beard nets, hard hat/bump caps, fall protection and LOTO items.
