Working closely with the Dean, department and program leaders, faculty, and other university offices, the Associate Dean will: Provide academic and administrative leadership for assigned programs; Mentor and support faculty in their teaching, scholarship, professional development, and service; Assist with academic planning, program development, assessment, enrollment, and institutional governance; Help foster a strong culture of collaboration, excellence, hospitality, and shared responsibility within the School; Provide leadership for university-wide academic initiatives housed within Arts & Sciences; Support the ongoing implementation of Ex Corde Ecclesiae and the University’s Christian, Catholic, and Benedictine identity; Teach regularly within his or her academic discipline. The Associate Dean serves as a faculty leader within the School of Arts & Sciences and assists the Dean in cultivating an academic community marked by intellectual seriousness, excellent teaching, faculty mentorship, genuine collegiality, and a shared commitment to the formation of students.
