ORGANIZATION
The Army, as one of the three military departments (Army, Navy and Air Force) reporting to the Department of Defense, is composed of two distinct and equally important components: the active component and the reserve components. The reserve components are the United States Army Reserve and the Army National Guard.


Regardless of component, the Army conducts both operational and institutional missions. The operational Army consists of numbered armies, corps, divisions, brigades, and battalions that conduct full spectrum operations around the world. The institutional Army supports the operational Army. Institutional organizations provide the infrastructure necessary to raise, train, equip, deploy, and ensure the readiness of all Army forces. The training base provides military skills and professional education to every Soldier—as well as members of sister services and allied forces. It also allows the Army to expand rapidly in time of war. The industrial base provides world-class equipment and logistics for the Army. Army installations provide the power-projection platforms required to deploy land forces promptly to support combatant commanders. Once those forces are deployed, the institutional Army provides the logistics needed to support them.


Without the institutional Army, the operational Army cannot function. Without the operational Army, the institutional Army has no purpose.

Summary:
The Junior Data Scientist will apply statistical techniques and both supervised and unsupervised ML processes to identify and classify customer groups and behaviors. Their responsibilities will include data preparation for statistical modeling/inference and the implementation and testing of AI/ML processes under the guidance of project managers and/or more senior AI leaders. Junior Data Scientists will also contribute to documentation efforts around the implementation methods employed for statistical and AI/ML processes in the project.

Key Tasks:
<ul><li> Apply statistical techniques to identify patterns of customer behavior</li><li> Create, implement, and use feature engineering pipelines for statistical and ML modeling</li><li> Create customer segmentation and clustering models efficiently using large data sets</li><li> Document implementation details for deployed AI/ML models</li></ul> Requirements:<ul><li> 1-2 years of coding experience in Python for statistical modeling and/or data science</li><li> Experience working in medical or medical-adjacent fields and applications</li><li> Experience writing and deploying statistical modeling tools and/or AI/ML models</li><li> Experience and familiarity with common ML and statistical modeling frameworks (SKLearn, Statsmodels, etc.)</li></ul>

 The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs.
