The purpose of tutoring is to increaseand enhance the mastery of concepts or course content for students who seek tutoring services. Peer Tutors expose students to effective study and learning strategies and may employ those and other strategies in their tutoring. Peer Tutors may be asked to participate in different types of tutoring, to include but not limited to: one-on-one, drop-in, group, and virtual tutoring sessions. They may also serve as Embedded Tutors, Peer-Assisted Learning Leaders, Academic Mentors, or Learning Community Ambassadors if requested and if they meet the qualifications for those roles.
