This position provides basic support to the Electrical System laboratory operations under the direction of the Department Chair and area faculty. This is a part time temporary position up to 25 hours/week. Duties/Functions <ul><li>Organization of Electrical System lab areas and equipment stations. </li><li>Maintain Electrical System stations, tool maintenance, and tool organization. </li><li>Coordinate with full-time Instructor or Lab Coordinator, who will be responsible for picking up supplies and materials from local vendors and delivering them onsite. Lab Assistant will ensure items are stored as directed upon delivery. </li><li>Be able to work with other construction trade departments, AA, and dean to maintain the Greensboro campus. </li><li>Demonstrate and model the College's employability skills: adaptability, communication, information processing, problem solving, responsibility and teamwork </li></ul>Difficult Challenges<ul><li>Work is typically performed in a Electrical System environment. </li><li>Working outside in moderate to extreme temperatures. </li></ul>Contacts<ul><li>Instructor, Electrical System Technology </li><li>Department Chair, Construction Trades </li><li>Dean, Industrial, Construction, and Transportation Technologies (ICTT) </li></ul>Education Required<ul><li>High School Diploma or GED </li></ul>Education Preferred<ul><li>Diploma or Associate's degree in Electrical System Technology </li></ul>Experience Required<ul><li>Experience in organization of workplace </li><li>Experience in inventory control. </li></ul>Experience Preferred<ul><li>1-year shop experience working in an Electrical System environment. </li><li>Experience with Electrical System tools. </li></ul>KSA Required<ul><li>Knowledge in Electrical System tools. </li><li>Skills with Electrical System lab equipment. </li><li>Microsoft 365 </li></ul>KSA Preferred<ul><li>While on campus the lab assistant shall uphold the standards of a professional employee of the college and comply with the Electrical System student and staff handbook. </li><li>The lab assistant must have a self-starter work ethic. </li><li>The lab assistant must be reliable as exhibited through attendance and punctuality. </li></ul>Department/Job Specific Requirements<ul><li>Lab organization and prep </li><li>Tool Inventory and organization </li><li>Contact for delivery </li><li>Perform safety and security watch at all times. </li><li>Inform instructors of safety violations and issues. </li></ul>Physical Demands<ul><li>Physical Activity: Long periods of standing and or walking </li><li>Environmental Hazard(s): <15% </li><li>Lifting: =>50lbs. </li></ul> Posting Type Part-Time Staff Posting Detail Information Posting Number 2025-048-TEMP-P Open Date 10/10/2025 Close Date Open Until Filled Yes Special Instructions to Applicants
