Safety: Observe all traffic laws and safety regulations for school buses Inspect bus by checking fuel, oil, water, tires, lights, brakes, and steering to ensure bus can be operated safely before driving Ensure proper condition of emergency equipment, such as first aid kit, fire extinguisher, and reflector(s) Correct unsafe conditions in work area that could cause an accident and inform supervisor of any conditions that are not corrected immediately Report any hazardous conditions along the route Practice safety techniques in lifting, climbing, and performing other job duties Perform emergency evacuation of students on bus, if needed: walking to the rear of the bus, exiting the rear door, and/or lifting students in emergency situations Maintain confidentiality in all matters concerning students and staff of Spring Branch ISD. Qualifications/Skills: Education/Certification/Experience: Maintain a valid Texas driver's license (Class C) Completion of High School Diploma or equivalent preferred Acceptable driving record as determined by the Texas Department of Public Safety and by SBISD as well as any other local, state and federal requirements Complete and pass the Texas School Bus Driver's Course, allied courses and examinations Eligible for coverage under the district's vehicle insurance program Maintain certification of good health as required by the State of Texas and signed by a licensed physician Must have an interest in the education and welfare of children Must be 18 years and older.
