Collaborates closely with executive leadership, cross-functional teams, and external stakeholders to deliver exemplary architectural solutions across a variety of specialized project types. Serves as a senior management member of staff with minimal supervision and the highest ability for initiative and independent judgement.</p><h3>ESSENTIAL DUTIES:</h3><ol><li>Develop plans for building preservation and visitor facilities, including construction documents for repair and restoration of historic structures to ensure compliance with sound architectural practices, historic preservation standards, and applicable codes and regulations.</li><li>Contract for and oversee the development of architectural plans and specifications for new facilities and historic structures.</li><li>Evaluate the condition of historic buildings and sites and prepares plans and reports describing their condition. Mostly sedentary in nature but may involve walking; standing; pulling and pushing; kneeling, stooping and bending; performing tasks requiring fine motor skills and coordination; and safely lifting and carrying items weighing up to 30 pounds. In addition to office work, duties will include evaluating historic structures, which may involve entering attics, crawlspaces, and other dark, damp or confined spaces, as well as climbing ladders and walking on roofs. Work may involve extended periods working outdoors in hot or cold conditions. Work includes visiting active construction sites where loud noises, dust, and uneven walking surfaces may be encountered. Applicants must be willing to travel and overnight travel is often required. This position attends and sometimes presents at conferences, meetings and workshops, requiring evening and weekend work hours.
